What are some attractions in Amarillo?

All along West 6th Ave, or the San Jacinto District, is a stretch of old shop-front buildings from
the 1920s.  This is a popular shopping area for tourists, selling food, books, antiques, and much
more.  Every Tuesday at 10am, you can see cowboys from around the area to bid on steers,
bulls, and cattle at the Amarillo Stockyards.  

Where can I go for some nightlife?

Well, there's not too much of a traditional nightlife in Amarillo.  However, Tte San Jacinto
District is the place to go for some Amarillo nightlife.  There is live music almost every night at
the Golden Light Cantina.  The Circus Rooms Cocktail Lounge is also a great place to go for
drinks and a good time.

Are there any good places to eat in Amarillo?

The most famous restaurant in Amarillo is the Big Texan Steak Ranch.  If you can eat a 72 oz
steak dinner complete with the steak, the shrimp cocktail, baked potato, dinner salad, and
dinner roll in under an hour, you can get the meal totally for free.

I'm taking a road trip this summer and want to spend a night in Amarillo.  Can you
recommend any good hotels?

Many people come to Amarillo just pass through.  Because of this, there is every hotel chain you
can imagine in Amarillo, so you have a great chance of staying with a familiar name.  The
Amarillo Motel is another option, if you don't want to go with a chain.  It's a very nice family
owned business.
