What's the best way to get good
deals on Sanibel hotels?
The first thing you can do is
stop by the Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce (right after you go
over the bridge from Ft Myers); they have a bunch of literature
including a leaflet that will list many
of the hotels and
cottages on sanibel along with a description. Many of them will give
you a
discount if you mention the Chamber.
My family and I have a
reservation at the Sundial Beach and Golf Resort. What can you
tell me about it?
This hotel is a great family
resort. It is located in a lush surrounding with many activities for
kids
and adults alike. By the way, their bar/restaurant has
a breathtaking view of the water....enjoy.
What is the best beach for
shelling?
All along Sanibel there are
great beaches for Shelling. Personally I like Tarpon Beach - it's a public
beach with tons of Shells - just don't park illegally there for
even a second as the cops love watching
and giving tickets. If
you're really into Shells, you may want to check out the Bailey Matthews
Shell Museum at 3075 Sanibel Captiva Dr
What are some fun activities to
do on the Island other than water stuff?
I'm not sure what you're
looking for but here are a few ideas. You can go to a quaint
shopping
area called Perriwinkle Place with nice boutiques. If
you're lookng for more of a physical activity,
you can rent a
bicycle at one of the rental shops. You can also use that bike to go
through the
popular area of JN "Ding" Darling National
Wildlife Refuge where you will see many reptiles
including
alligators and exotic birds. You can also drive or hike that same
path.
