General Providence Rhode Island Questions and Answers:

Where do you suggest we stay when we come to Providence?

A nice place is the Old Court B&B which has antique filled rooms in a
stately brick building.  If you're looking to stay at a classic grand hotel of the
1920's, you can try the Providence Biltmore.  If you are looking for less
pricey chain motels, they are located south of town near the airport in
Warwick.

I am coming to Providence with my kids, what are some things they might
enjoy?

If you're traveling with kids, detour south of the city to the large Roger
Williams Park and its first-rate Roger Williams Zoo.  From downtown, take
I-95 south to exit 17 Elmwood Ave.

I do not plan on renting a car.  What is the public transportation situation
like in Providence?

The Rhode Island Public Transportation Authority (RIPTA) runs buses
around town from its Kennedy Plaza hub and also links Providence with
Newport and other State localities.  RIPTA's Providence LINK Trolley
operates 2 lines from Kennedy Plaza - the Green Line goes to Federal Hill
and to the East side while the Gold goes to the State Capitol.
