GENOS

PATS

PATS or GENOS?  Who makes the best cheesesteak in Philly?  The debate rages on.  Below is the Tale
of the Tape (or should I say the Tale of the Steak). Pictures on left is PATS, pictures on right is GENOS.
My taste tested was conducted using the classic toppings (cheese wiz and onions).

Bread:
Pats and Genos both use soft rolls of equal length -
TIE

Onions:
Pats onions perfectly cooked with mild onion flavor.  GENOS had strong onion flavor and barely cooked.
Advantage PATS

Cheese Wiz:
Both were adequate and complemented the meat well -
TIE

Meat:
Portion was bigger from PATS and the meat was chopped up more fine. Both were equally tender.
Advantage PATS

Price:
Both were $7  at time of test -
TIE

Dining area:
GENOS has more room to sit down.  PATS looked a liittle older and more runned down -
Advantage
GENOS.

Friendliness of Staff:
Who cares - it's all about the cheesesteak -
TIE

OVERALL WINNER:   slight edge to PATS

.....just one person's opinion
