LONDON AIRPORTS

All information to airports is given from Central London destinations
you will need to get from you accommodation to Central London and leave
from these designated stations.

HEATHROW—
Heathrow Express from Paddington Station, which is on the Circle
(yellow) & District (green) tube, lines.  It’s pricey but it’s fast and
direct.  You can take the Underground all the way to Heathrow from any
Central London tube destination.  It’s on the Piccadilly Line (dark blue)
and you just have to change onto it from where ever your original Brit
Mainline rail trains dumps you.  For all those living in (WW take a (bus
119 or 194 to East Croydon) East Croydon take a mainline train to
Victoria and then the District Line to Baron’s Court and walk across the
platform (if you change anywhere else you’ll have to go up and over
platforms and stuff and with luggage I don’t recommend it) to the Piccadilly
Line and take it all the way to Heathrow.  It is VITAL to know which
terminal as it can take 30 minutes to get to the next terminal and you
could miss your flight.  The number to check the status and find out
which terminal is 0870 000 0123.  Have your flight number handy and just follow
the automated prompts and it will tell you which terminal
1,2,3 or 4 you’re flying from and what the status of your flight is.  On
the underground Heathrow is in Zone 6 and depending on what time you
leave you should get a single (one way) ticket to Heathrow or if you
flight is later than just leave your luggage somewhere like Victoria and see
the city that day and then make your way on out to Heathrow on a daily
travel card for whichever zones you normally use.
*If you’re in Bromely or East Croydon there is also a 726 bus from
Bromley South for £4 single (one way) option.

GATWICK
It is VITAL to know which terminal as it can take 15 minutes to get to
the next terminal.  The number is 01293 535 353 and you should have
your flight number handy and just follow the automated prompts and it will
tell you which terminal North or South you’re flying from and what the
status of your flight is.  From any Central London tube station make
your way to Victoria Station on the Victoria Line (light blue).  From
Victoria there is a Gatwick Express, which is £8ish for a single journey.
You can also take the cheaper options of a Brit Mainline train going to
Gatwick.  You’ll have to buy a ticket as this is outside of Zone 6 and
it should cost £4ish.  You need to look up Gatwick Airport on the
placards and find the right platform.  Then just hop on the train and don’t
fall asleep.  They stop right at the airport then just follow the signs
to the terminals.  If you’re already in East Croydon you just catch a
train going South to Gatwick and it’s still £4ish.

STANSTEAD
A train direct to Stanstead leaves from Liverpool Street.  Make your
way from any mainline Brit Rail station via underground to Liverpool
Street and then take the Stanstead Express.
