Does
Bradenton have a "downtown" area such as is in Sarasota? Just moved
here and
am looking for interesting shopping area to take
visitor. Also a popular eating seafood
eating place.

Bradenton does have a nice
downtown area. Although, it isn't as large as Sarasota's. I believe
there are 2 or 3 shops down there, so I don't know if that would be
the best place to take your
visitor shopping. I believe they are
nice art and trinket shops. Try visiting Memory Lane. The
owner
does excellent framing and at a cheap price. On Saturday mornings they
have a farmer's
market in downtown Bradenton. They close off Main
Street (12th Ave.) and that may be the time
to take your friend
shopping. I believe it starts at 8:00 AM and stops at 12:00 PM.
There
are many seafood restaurants in our area. My personal favorite is the
Sandbar. Here is

too. I
love Mar-Vista as well. (A link to that restaurant is on
the link). If you will be in downtown
Bradenton and would like

Where is Bradenton
located?
Bradenton is located on the
west coast of Florida just under Tampa Bay. Bradenton is just one of
the cities located in Manatee County. There is also Palmetto, Anna
Maria, Holmes Beach, Cortez
and Longboat Key. We are located an
hour south of Tampa and you can arrive here either by
car or fly
in Tampa International Airport (1 hour drive south) or Sarasota
International Airport
(20 minutes drive
north).
What are some of
Bradenton's attractions and reasons to
visit?
We are very proud to boast that
we have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world here in
Manatee County. White powder sand and sunshine all year! Our
temperatures average from 50
degrees to 90 degrees throughout the
year. In the summer we have afternoon showers and in the
winter it’s sunny blue skies.
In Manatee County we have over 20
world class championship golf courses, wonderful local
owned
restaurants, fishing at your doorstep, local world renowned artists,
theatres and great
shopping. Tourists love Bradenton for
the small town feel and the beautiful beaches.
Could you please give
information on area lakes to fish in Manatee Co. or surrounding
Counties?
There are several fresh water
fishing spots around here. A couple of them are the Manatee River
and Myakka State Park. Both of them are accessible from SR 70. When
you get here, ask a
local. I'm sure they'll point you to their
favorite "fishin' hole". :-) We love to tell our fishing
stories.
I really don't fish in Sarasota County although my stepfather
goes to APEK off Cattlemen Road
in Sarasota. I'm not sure of the
spelling on that one. If you like fishing, you should try a great
restaurant out in the woods on the Manatee River called Linger Lodge.
It's also a fish camp, so
you could fish there as well. Take SR
70 to Linger Lodge Road. Head South and follow the
signs. There's
also a boat ramp there.
