Answer
Chain motels along Central Ave, west
of Interstate 87 (exit 2) are only about a 10 minute drive
from
downtown, and prices are low. A good downtown option is the Pine
Haven B&B, a
Victorian home with feather beds and
surprisingly reasonable rates.
Question
I'll be in Albany in
a few weeks, how do I find out what events will be going on and what are
some good clubs to go to?
Answer:
Lark Street is the
happening strip in with lots of good shops, restaurants, and trendy
lounges and
clubs, For entertainment and club info in the Albany
area, pick up a copy of Metroland, the free
alternative weekly
paper.

Where is a nice hotel to stay at in downtown
Albany?
Answer:
The Crowne Plaza Hotel is a very nice hotel in
downtown Albany at State St and Loge.
Question:
Where do the
locals go for breakfast and lunch?
Answer:
Grandma's Country
Kitchen on Route 5 in Albany. It's an old fashioned restaurant that
specializes in dishes that Grandma used to make like apples pie, meat
loaf, and don't forget those
mashed potatoes with the
lumps.

Where a shopping mall in
Albany?
Answer:
There's the Albany Colonie Center on Wolf Rd and
Route 5 (Central Ave). Its basically your
standard mall
with your standard mall stores.
